Halloween "Dare To Enter" Dressage and CT Show and Clinic

The TVDCTA Dare To Enter Dressage and Combined Training Event and accompanying clinic was held on October 23-24 at Flint Ridge Farm in Huntsville.  Dolly Hannon "R" was the judge and clinician.

The High Score Award winners were Debi Crowley on Slick in Open Dressage, Jules Behmer on Superman in Jr. Dressage, Karen Boates on Izod in Open CT, and Shannon Jo Hendrick on Oaklee in the Jr. CT.

High Score Awards were donated by Healing Touch Equine Massage Therapists (Sonja Hinds and Morgan Stangle).  Each massage is a $40 value and gift certificates will be available at the show.

Equestrians Fight Leukemia and Lymphoma

Mary Ann Grant, a grand prix dressage rider who has been long listed with the United State Equestrian Team, has established the 2005 Equestrian of the Year Award in order to raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma research.  Equestrians of all disciplines and levels are asked to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The equestrian who raises the most will be named the 2005 Equestrian of the Year.  For more details, see their web site

 

TVDCTA Members Compete in USDF Shows

Quite a few members have been busy in the late summer competing in various USDF recognized shows.  Results are now posted on the web for the Ole South, Septemberfest, Dressage By The River, and Music City Arabian shows.  Go to the Results section to see how everyone has been doing. 

 

 

TVDCTA Harvest Dressage Show and Combined Training Event 

Ulrich Schmitz "S"The TVDCTA Harvest Dressage Show and Combined Training Event was held on September 25-26 at Flint Ridge Farm in Huntsville.  Ulrich Schmitz "R" was the judge and clinician.

High Score Awards went to Tammy Jones (Open Dressage Intro - Training), Kathy Miller (Open Dressage First Level & Above), Caitlin Newberry  (Jr./YR Dressage), April Hamlin (Open CT), and Elizabeth Zuelke (Jr./YR CT).  Jones posted scores of 69.50% and 69.23% in Training Level 1 and 2 tests, while Miller scored two 68.00% scores in First Level Test 3 and 4.  Junior Caitlin Newberry scored a 70.00% in winning her Training Level Test 4 competition, as well as a 69.21 in Training Level Test 2, plus a 65.83% in winning Training Level Test 3.

In the CT events, April Hamlin scored a 32.50% in winning the PreNovice competition and junior Elizabeth Zuelke won a pair of events (Novice and PreNovice) with scores of 36.00% and 37.50%.  Nancy Smith scored a very good 35.50% in winning the Novice CT event.

New Foals 

Meredith Michelfelder has had two recent editions to her equine family.  The chestnut filly with chrome, "Tess" was delivered by her Hanoverian mare out of the sire Contucci.  Her Oldenburg mare delivered the bay colt with chrome "J.J." from the sire Frohwind.


 

Equine Massage Therapy 

Sonja Hinds and Morgan Stangle are completing a course of study for equine massage therapy.   Additional information will be coming soon on their new endeavor.

Debbie Hill Completes USDF "L" Education Program

TVDCTA member Debbie Hill recently completed the USDF “L” education program and passed the final examination.  The purpose of the program is to provide pre-training for future judges and to fulfill the USA Equestrian requirement for entering the "R" judges training program.  See http://www.usdf.org/pdf/LProgram/OrganizerGuide.pdf for additional information on the "L" education program.

 

Congratulations goes to Debbie, who has always been held in high regard by her peers.
