TVDCTA Eventers on a Roll

While it is still early in the season for the big dressage competitions, many TVDCTA members have been competing throughout the Winter months at various HT events.

In January, Linda Bammann and Nancy Smith traveled to Florida for the Southeast HT at Canterbury, where Bammann took second place in Novice Horse and Smith  got fifth place in the Novice Rider divisions.

Danielle Bolte rode in the Pine Top Winter I HT in Georgia in early February and took second place in the Jr. Novice division.  That same weekend, Debi Crowley Bammann, and Smith competed in Florida at the Rocking Horse Winter I HT, where Crowley captured first place in the Open Preliminary division and Smith improved to second place in the Novice Rider division.  Bammann returned three weeks later for the Rocking Horse Winter III HT and won the Open Novice division.

And finally, TVDCTA was well-represented at the Ft. Rucker HT in late March, where Smith won the Novice Rider division.

See the Results section for all of the scores!

Jump Pole Drive

Debi Crowley

I have volunteered to head up a jump pole drive for the club. As you all know, the clubs hosts many shows each year which include combined training divisions and we typically have excellent participation. Currently, we
borrow the majority of the jumps and poles from other club members in order to set up the jump courses, but we would ultimately like to be in the position where the club owns it's own jumps, standards, and poles. For the
near term, we want to focus on getting more poles. We are asking each family that has been actively involved in combined training at TVDCTA shows to donate one freshly painted 12' long jump pole in good condition to the club.

If you do not have the time or inclination to purchase a 12' 4X4 and plane the edges and paint it, we are asking for $20 cash donations which will be used to hire someone to do this for us.  We would like to have these poles by June 15 in preparation for the July clinic with Ulrich Schmitz

Please reply to me at dcrowley@ardmore.net and let me know if you are willing to donate a pole so that we know what to expect prior to June 15. If you prefer to send a cash donation instead, please make checks out to TVDCTA and mail to Mimi Barnes, 201 Meryal Lane, New Market, AL 35761.

It is important that we all work together so that our club activities continue to be successful. Your participation will be greatly appreciated!
